GEOCELLS
Geotex geocells are strong, lightweight three-dimensional expandable panels made from High Density Polyethylene for maximum performance. Used for erosion control applications and improving load-bearing capacity of weak soils.
A proven solution for improving the strength of soft soils. Geocells can create a hard mattress to distribute the load over a wider area, reduce settlement of soft soil, improve shear resistance and load carrying capacity and reduce distortion. All sections of the geocell are fastened together and placed directly on the surface of the subsoil or placed on the geotextile covered on the roadbed surface Furthermore, when it is not cost-effective to transport high quality fill material to the site, existing material such as sand or clay can be used to fill the Geotex structure. It can be used for Erosion control; this enables vegetation to re-generate in difficult areas, preventing wash out zones. Applications can include building pavements, roads, walkways and foundations.
